Before that, Deepti was the founding PM for Google Spanner, growing it to thousands of internal customers (Ads, PlayStore, Gmail, etc.), before launching it externally as a seminal cloud database service. Deepti started her career as a distributed systems engineer in the RAC database kernel at Oracle.

He also worked on multi-homing Dropbox infrastructure and building database systems that handle millions of queries per second. He received his PhD from MIT in large-scale distributed transaction processing and consensus protocols. James has a penchant for building things and anything involving motorcycles.

Before Figma, Sammy worked at Dropbox where she built out their petabyte scale metadata and search systems. She co-led a project to scale beyond the limits of horizontally sharded MySQL. This required building a strongly consistent, highly available KV store, PandaDB, and rearchitecting the Edgestore metadata system on top of PandaDB. Before Dropbox, Sammy graduated from Stanford with an MS in Computer Science and a BS in Mathematical Computational Sciences. Sammy loves talking about all things related to technical leadership or infrastructure. In her free time she is usually searching for deep powder, perfect swells, fair winds, or the answer to the Riemann Hypothesis.
